Method 1 — Measuring an existing belt (recommended)
Take a belt that fits you well and measure the distance from the edge of the buckle to the hole you use most frequently.

Method 2 — Measuring waist circumference
If you do not have a fitting belt, measure your waist circumference with a measuring tape at the exact place where you normally wear the belt.
Do not pull the measuring tape too tight — the measurement should be comfortable and natural.

Yes, since leather is a natural material, any leather belt will stretch slightly over time. On average, this amounts to about 5–10 mm, which should be taken into account when choosing the size.

To help the belt last longer and maintain its shape, it should not be worn too tightly. It should comfortably hold your trousers in place rather than remain under constant tension. If, after some time, the belt becomes noticeably looser and you need to use holes farther along the strap, it is likely being worn with excessive tension.

Even thick and durable genuine leather belts stretch slightly, while thinner models may stretch even more. Therefore, a comfortable fit that is not overly tight is the best way to preserve the belt’s original size.
